A few important items
Hereby you are receiving your update and/or upgrade to EndNote 20.0.1 for Windows and Mac released recently. Please plan and prepare the switch from your current version X9.x (or lower version) to the new EndNote 20.
EndNote X9.3.x, EndNote 20.0.0 and 20.0.1 require conversion: When you open an existing EndNote X9.2 or earlier library (including X8, X7 etc.) with EndNote 20.0.0, EndNote 20.0.1 or EndNote X9.3.x, EndNote will prompt you to convert your library and if acknowledged a converted version will be created that can be used with EndNote X9.3.x or EndNote 20 or EndNote 20.0.1 (with new native 64-bit database engine). The original library will not be changed, so you can continue using it with EndNote X9.2 or earlier. If your end-users have an older version of EndNote (X9.2, X8, X7) you might wait uninstalling the older version application in case an older (X9.2 or even older format) version library needs for instance a recovery. The older version of EndNote can be started just by opening the 'EndNote.exe' or 'EndNote.app' from the older version application folder. If you don't have an older version of EndNote on your system, you may also consider to sync an empty library with your EndNote Online envrionment: Use 'Sync' with your EndNote Online account to move your data across systems and versions.
Please read these two important topics applicable to EndNote version X9.3 and 20 or higher:
Why EndNote X9.3.x has been released and why is there a transition to 64-bit technology? Also applicable to version 20. You can read more at Apple’s knowledge base article here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208436
