EndNote X8 has been released

There it is: EndNote X8. Many of you have ordered EndNote X8 already. You will get your license details and download links today. If you can't wait, login to our shop and go to your 'My Account' section. For the ones who did not order already, please buy it now. If you have Reference Manager 12, EndNote X6 or X7, choose the upgrade edition. Else buy the full version of EndNote X8. For the students, there is again the EndNote X8 Student edition. Important to realize:
- Even the demo version of EndNote X8 (although it will be installed in a different directory) will change your application shortcuts.
- The EndNote X8 Mac OS X installer works with OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) or later including OS X 10.12 (Sierra).
- The Windows version requires Windows X7 SP1 or later including Windows 8 or 10.
If you are using Reference Manager or EndNote X7 or earlier: Your library will be converted automatically. This applies both for Reference Manager as for EndNote users. You will feel comfortable switching to EndNote X8. Just as a precaution make a backup of your library and your documents. This is an advise that we always give, not only for this specific occasion. Backup regularly. You don't want to lose your article or thesis or libraries when something happens to your pc or your hard disk.
Reference Manager users are advised to review our frequently asked questions page for instructions how to switch to EndNote. Reference Manager databases and citations in your articles can be converted automatically. We are here to help, if needed.
